Viking Bird's Beak - VCSR170306
A Bird's Beak knife, typically with 2- to 4-inch blades, is similar to a paring knife, but with a pronounced forward curve in the blade at the tip. It is used to peel and carve rounded surfaces on fruits and vegetables, such as an apple or potato. Viking Cutlery is crafted in Solingen, Germany using old world standards. Each knife is forged from a single piece of high carbon-chromium-vanadium stainless steel that is rust and stain resistant. The blade is then ice-hardened to create a strong easy to sharpen blade with a long lasting edge. Its full tang reinforces the knife from tip to butt and the weighted end of each knife creates optimum balance that feels good in your hand. The handles are constructed of polyoxymethaline, an advanced material that will not crack and is impervious to water. Viking Cutlery, for the cook seeking to invest in quality and style for a lifetime of use.

PHOENIX
PHOENIX regeneration, indestructible spirit PHOENIX: A universal symbol of the sun, mystical rebirth, resurrection and immortality, this legendary red "fire bird" was believed to die in its self-made flames periodically (each hundred years, according to some sources) then rise again out of its own ashes. Linked to the worship of the fiery sun and sun gods such as Mexico's Quetzalcoatl, it was named "a god of Phoenecia" by the Phoenician. To alchemists, it symbolized the the destruction and creation of new forms of matter along the way to the ultimate transformation: physical (turn lead into gold) and spiritual (immortality - an occult alternative to the Christian salvation). The philosopher's stone was considered the key to this transformation.

How do I start birding?
Q. I'm curious as to how an 18-year-old starts birding. I know I need to get binoculars, a camera, and a big, dorky hat. Is there anything else I may need? How do I learn all the types of birds in Arizona? What's a good field guide to buy? Where is a good place to go bird watching in the Phoenix area? What might I see? How can I meet other young people who love birds? It seems more like a middle-aged activity. :P

A. Go out to places where birders gather and see if anybody your age is around. if they are, go talk to them. :)
